Stork Fokker aims to have design and build responsibility for major aerostructural components. The Engineering department plays a pivot role in optimising the design of the components towards producibility at lowest cost.
In close collaboration with the client, a conceptual design is generated that makes use of the best technology for the purpose. Our engineers are skilled at thermoplastic and thermoset composites, fibre-metal laminates and conventional metals. In the initial stages of the design process, we are usually co-located at the customer’s premises anywhere in the world.
The detailed design phase is executed in multi-disciplinary Design-Build Teams with an active participation of manufacturing engineering. In that way full use is made of their production knowledge. Our design assurance system, integrator know-how, and programme approach ensure a secure yet tailored design for every customer.

Fokker Engineering Romania SRL is a full daughter of Stork Fokker. This Engineering facility is located in Bucharest, Romania. FER is managed fulltime on site by Dutch management and employs Romanian engineers with international experience and know-how. Subcontracting to FER is facilitated and supported by Stork Fokker.
