High speed machining
To reduce the cost of solid aluminium products, Stork Fokker uses high-speed machining at its Hoogeveen and Schiphol facilities.
Lead times are minimised because components can be machined in a single set-up, and universal vices often remove the need for fixtures.
| High-speed machining involving tool speeds of 30,000rpm and feed rates of 20m/min on five-axes, linear-driven machines can replace sheet-metal fabrication to save labour, tooling, and transport costs. | ![]() |
